Alburn was born in a flat in Morningside, on a brown couch which propped up many a recording session as they wrote their firstfew songs. Releasing song by song on every kind of social media site they could sign up for, Alburn gathered followers from all over the world. The music itself is most audibly influenced by the East Coast scene in the US, hints of bands such as Brand New and Moving Mountains. Alburn’s music is melodic but with a distinctly raw edge to it.

Their debut EP ‘Engines’, released summer 2012, was well received and the band continue to write and record with plans of an early 2013 release on the cards.

Alburn are a band full of hope and we are really looking forward to hearing what they are going to deliver next.

Ukrainian Drum & Bass duo Derrick & Tonika started making music together in 2006 and have been releasing 12′s on such labels as Architecture (UK), Soundtrax (UK). Along with this they also have CD and digital releases on Paradox’s Outsider (UK), Medschool Music (UK) Defcom/Osiris (UK), Camino Blue (DE), Rubik (UK), Fokuz (NI). Their Music is supported by the likes of Fabio, Grooverider, Kryptic Minds, London Elektricity, Paradox, Big Bud, PFM, Logistics, Ink, Sabre, Random Movement, Loxy… The list goes on.

Derrick & Tonika are heavily involved in some of the biggest festivals in the Ukraine including Global Gathering & Kazantip. They are also authors and host Panorama Radio-Show on Kiss FM Ukraine.

We are proud to announce another new signing to the Reprise Publishing roster – Truckers Of Husk.

Truckers of Husk are: Hywel Evans // Rhodri Thomas // Iwan Parris // Richard Williams // Kelson Mathias: 4 parts Ammanford, 1 part Cowbridge.

Having taken the Cardiff music scene by the scruff of its neck since their first gig in 2006 Truckers of Husk have since gone on to collect a seriously loyal fanbase, including support from BBC Introducing and name-checks at several festivals including Latitude, Concrete and Glass, Greenman and Swn.

Often cited as one of Wales’ best live bands, Truckers of Husk are known for their unpredictable arrangements, percussive rhythms, dense guitar weaves and bouts of topless drumming. Never quite sure where they’re meant to fit, they rode out the math-rock trend with their own distinct sound which has been likened to everything from Battles to Prince. This loud, pulsating and textured sound makes them one of the most unique live bands currently around. Recent support slots have included appearances with Lightning Bolt, The Ex, Battles, and Les Savy Fav among many others.

In 2008 Truckers released the critically acclaimed Physical Education EP, which featured on Warp Records best new releases of 2008 list. In 2010 they released the (literally) self-made cassette featuring the Awesome Tapes from Africa and Person for the Person singles; each one handmade and home-duped.

Taking some time out to cultivate their beards and finally put together an album’s worth of music, Truckers of Husk’s first full length LP Accelerated Learning will be released through Cardiff’s Shape Records.

Stray is a young producer hailing from London, with an aim to break away from many of the bounds of the drum n bass genre and focus on the more musical side of production. With DJ support from the likes of Goldie, Noisia, D-Bridge, Rockwell, Teebee, London Elektricity, Kasra & more and releases out on highly acclaimed labels such as Hospital, Critical, Exit, Brownswood and Invisible, he’s one for the hard-edged music connoisseurs and casual junglists alike to keep a serious eye on.

We are proud to present our latest signing to the Reprise Publishing roster, representing the new wave of Polish dance music producers – The Phantom.

The Phantom aka Bartosz Kruczynski is a Warsaw based producer. Inspired by the British sounds of funky and grime, African house music and early club classics, he delivers his sub driven, dystopian tropicalia, proudly representing a new wave of Polish producers.

The debut ‘Cambodia’ (available on the Top Billin’s ‘PL Funky’ compilation) has been picked up by the likes of Ikonika, Bok Bok, Brodinski, The Captain, DJ Manaia, while played on BBC Radio 1 or Kiss FM. His next step are the uptempo, crunchy remix for Cracow’s Supra1 on the mighty Trouble & Bass and a rework of Jack Dixon’s ‘I Let You’ (Silverback Recordings), picked up by Sinden.

He delivered exclusive mixes for URB, Sonic Router, Trouble & Bass, Discobelle, The Fat! Club and Trash Menagerie blogs. The Phantom also has a number of exciting releases lined up for 2011.

All parts of Reprise have been working very hard to start 2011 with success. We proudly present to you a new addition to our Reprise Publishing roster – Yojimbo Billions.

Yojimbo Billions is a bedroom producer Zach Vogt from Arizona. Coming from a background in live jazz, he’s played locally for 15 years before making the move to electronic composition.  Favoring atmosphere and harmonic density over clean, sterile technique, his tunes are influenced as much by early tape loop experiments as by the bounce of modern dance music, creating a personalized sound that bears the sun-bleached stamp of his hometown which would perhaps fit next to Boards of Canada and Balam Acab.

Keep an eye out for upcoming releases and remixes from Yojimbo Billions in 2011.

We’re very pleased to announce the signing of West Norwood Cassette Library to the Reprise Publishing roster.

West Norwood Cassette Library is a producer and blogger from London who is made quite an impact with his debut release “What It Is,” on his own eponymous label. “What it is” is  a distinct and confident record backed with a great remix from the dependable Brackles. West Norwood Cassette Library has a clean studied sound that seems grounded in almost too many different influences and styles to name. Handy then that we should have an interview with him, where he elucidates his origins, his influences, the man behind the sound, and his future plans.

Look out for “Blonde on Blonde” on the newly formed Danish label Teal Recordings soon.

Full-time production junkie and part-time human, Kentucky resident Milyoo (Tommy Wilson) writes what he dubs “coffee-dependent hoo ha”.  Drawing from a dense musical background spanning the gap between punk rock and ambient, Milyoo’s ‘hoo ha’ transcends clear identification and often straddles the fuzzy threshold between dubstep, house, techno, hip-hop, and psychedelia.  Look for a flurry of releases and remixes in 2011 on labels such as West Norwood Cassette Library, Fortified, Night Audio, Opit, Trouble Brewing, Hold Box Flat, Saigon, and Soul Motive.

In 2007, New Zealand based Drum and bass Dj/Producer Dose burst into the international drum & bass scene with a string of well received releases. Now 3 years and over 25 international releases later, Dose is fast proving himself as not only one of New Zealand’s leading solo drum & bass artist’s but one of the rising stars of the drum & bass scene world wide.

Dose’s productions cover a wide range of the drum & bass spectrum, but the majorities are of high energy which over the years has become dose’s signature driving sound.
